Do Subliminal Messages In Music Really Exist?

The purpose of subliminal messages is to bypass the conscious mind and deliver the message straight to the subconscious mind. All sounds enter the ear and are immediately picked up by the conscious sector of the mind. Depending on the sound that is heard, the conscious mind does not always register it. Studies have proved that even if a particular sound does not register in the conscious mind, if there are enough stimuli present in the sound, the subconscious mind automatically detects and reacts to it. Subliminal Messages in music really exists and this is how it's done.

A recording technique called 'back masking' is used. For this technique to be used, the music must be recorded on a reel to reel taping system. The message is recorded backwards or in reverse on a track tape which can only be played forward. According to research claims, this technique was first employed by "The Beatles" in the mid 1960's but did not really become prominent in the United States until around 1980.

At this point in time, arguments began to be raised by Christian organizations who claimed satanic messages were being used against rock singers whose originally recorded music did not contain anything of an offensive nature. These Christian groups further maintained that the 'back masking' technique was being used to encourage listeners, who are most often in their teenage years, to become interested in drugs and illicit sexual activities.

In 1983 a California bill was formulated to require recordings in which the 'back masking' technique was employed to have a warning label. Some musicians credited as being part of this movement are Lady Gaga and Buddy Holly. In a song written following Holly's death in a plane crash, the 'back mask' recording claimed there was no plane crash that took his life but rather it was merely Satan collecting his dues. Another artist whose works are said to be a most useful satanic vehicle is Led Zepplin, particularly the song about Heaven.

On the other side of the argument, it is claimed that some ads, such as one by soft drink companies such as "Coke" are meant to entertain. They further claim that there is no satanic message in the ad. Coke's claim is that 'back masking' was used to make it appear there was a message included in the song for their product ads which claimed that their beverage actually contained cocaine.

In another outstanding example, the song 'Hotel California' which has the well-known opening line of 'Welcome to the Hotel California' when recorded using 'back masking' actually refers to the first satanic church which was built in L.A.

In the world of today, there are people who assert that since nobody listens to 8-track or cassette tapes anymore, all the hype or concern about subliminal messages existing in songs is a thing of the past. It is also asserted when the popular gadget, the MP3 player, came into existence, it totally ended the existence of subliminal messages in music due to the fact that MP3 uses a compressed file which can not be easily altered.

Food for Potential Energy

ENERGY FOOD. At its simplest level, food can be classified as either a Macro-Nutrient or a Micro-Nutrient. Food contains the potential energy which our bodies metabolise into actual energy.

One of the most important aspects of hill walking/trekking is to maintain your walking calories intake in keeping with the terrain & amount of equipment you are carrying, and to avoid dehydration.

MACRO-NUTRIENTS Macro-Nutrients can be broadly categorised as:- Carbohydrates, Fats & Proteins. The best ratio of Macro-Nutrients for active people is:-

CARBOHYDRATES 50-60%. Simple carbs like sugar & sweets are quickly converted into glucose for instant energy use. While useful for providing quick energy, complex carbs. e.g. oats, wholemeal bread, take longer to digest and are better as a long term energy source, as they produce a more regulated supply of energy and you avoid the energy high-low swings common with simple sugars.

FATS 25-35%. These provide longer stores of energy. Do not exclude fats i.e. a fat-free diet, as they are essential for the metabolism of carbohydrates. Besides, most of the taste in food comes from fats!

PROTEINS 15% These can take days to metabolise but are essential for the body's repair processes.

WATER. Important too is to take as much water as you can carry, because water is rapidly lost through sweat and is essential to metabolise foods. It had long been thought that water was just a "carrier" of nutrients but research has now shown water to be an integral part of the body chemical process. Due to sweating, many electrolytes will be lost, especially potassium (the best replacement source is a banana). Even a 5% dehydration can result in a 20-30% reduction in metabolism, resulting in decreased performance e.g. headaches, weakness, fatigue, irritability, loss of appetite, disorientation. If your urine is clear or light straw coloured ok, but if it is noticeably dark yellow then you are dehydrated. Dehydration creeps up unnoticed so remember to drink regularly even though you may not feel thirsty. Alas, drinks containing alcoholic and caffeine are not recommended, unless you are in shelter at the end of the day! Alcohol increases the peripheral blood circulation leading to rapid heat loss and the dangers of hypothermia.

Caffeine and alcohol are both diuretics, causing excessive water loss, leading to a downward spiral of dehydration. The most alarming aspect of dehydration is one seldom realises one is becoming dehydrated, unless our companions notice some symptoms in our behaviour. Recommended intake for someone working hard is at least 3-4 litres daily. Take sterilizing tablets in case you meet streams and your bottle is empty.

SNOW. Don't eat snow! It takes more energy to melt snow in your mouth than any increase of energy gained through increased metabolism. Melt it first.

MICRO-NUTRIENTS. Micro-Nutrients are all the other vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids etc. that are essential to the metabolism of the macro-nutrients. They are contained in the diet we eat, so if our diet consists mainly of food bought from supermarkets (unless it is organically produced, and even then it has to be locally produced), picked when unripe and flown halfway around the world, your diet will probably be poor in micro-nutrients. So, buy your food from the little old lady selling her garden produce as you hike past, otherwise I strongly recommend you take supplements on your hike.

If you consider how many calories prehistoric hunter-gatherers could consume while searching for food (around 5000-6000 daily), and their intake of vitamins & minerals associated with that amount of food, you will soon work out that in the relatively short span of time (in evolutionary terms) since we stopped chasing our food, our bodies are still expecting to receive much greater amounts of vitamins & minerals than our present day reduced calorific intake provides. Evolution does not move very fast!

SUPPLEMENTS. Organic food supplements are just that - they are produced from organically grown food and are not to be confused with the cheaper stuff synthesised in a lab. Organic vitamins & minerals, which are pure plant material with just the water & cellulose removed, include very important "phytofactors" found in vegetables. These assist in the efficient usage of the main vitamin, whereas synthetic vitamins without phytofactors are not so readily absorbed, resulting in expensive urine! Extra exertion (and smoking, tea, coffee & alcohol) depletes your vitamins & minerals, requiring additional vitamin intake. Sweating too causes many salts/minerals to be lost and this can result in muscle cramps. As it would be impractical to take fresh vegetables on a hike, the best way is to take a broad spectrum organic vitamin & mineral supplement.

Eat well, take adequate amounts of water and you will maintain your energy output for a surprisingly long period and recover quicker the next day! Happy Hiking!

Mike Jozefiak.

Natural Way To Keep Your Man Interested

Have you ever wondered why some women are as dispensable as a candy wrapper for some men and some women are able to keep their men like a puppy on a leash. Does it frustrate you that you are taken for granted by your man now? You are desperate to keep your man interested.

You long for what he used to be, where he puts you in a pedestal and he caters to your every whims. You get to conjecture why some women no matter how long they’ve been in a relationship, they are still being worshiped by their husband or boyfriend. There’s nothing wrong with you, you just need to know the ways on how to keep your man interested.

It’s not as hard as you think it is. The first you need to keep your man interested is to step outside of yourself for a moment and try to look at your husband or boyfriend objectively. The rationale for this is to look at your partner in a different perspective- a man, not as a lover.

If you look at him as a lover you will be influenced by your emotions and you cannot think straight. If you look at your lover as a man you will get to realize, he is no different from any another men. Have you heard the cliché that men are all the same- well it’s true.

They may have different ways of presenting themselves but in the core- all men are the same. Men want excitement- challenge- they always do and they always will. Why do you think they are so crazy about ball games and target shooting or hunting and climbing the peak of Mt.

Everest? It’s because men loves a challenge, they are genetically made to chase and to conquer but once you are conquered you will be displayed or mounted like a trophy. You will be one of the display items in his house- one of the furniture. This doesn’t mean he loves you less- it’s just that there’s nothing left to do when it comes to you.

So one way to keep you man interested in you is to always become a challenge. I don’t mean that you are going to be very hard and difficult for him to handle-there’s difference between a challenge and an annoyingly complicated person. To keep your man interested you have to learn to compartmentalize yourself.

Compartmentalizing yourself means differentiating the various aspect of yourself- your physical, your emotional, your mental and your spiritual self. He may have conquered your physical aspect but not your emotional aspect. He may have conquered the all of you but never allow him to own you or control you. Never let one aspect of yourself affect the other.

For example, he may have offended you emotionally by taking you for granted but never allow your mind or your mental aspect to stop functioning just because you are emotionally bruised. Keeping your sanity will help you rise above any situation. Another tactic to keep your man interested, is having a full control of your emotion- you know when to overwhelm him with emotions and know how to shut it off when he becomes upsetting.

Convey a subliminal message that you love and adore him but he can never affect you unless you want him to. If you can perfectly execute this- he will forever keep your man interested. You will become this unconquerable soul for him- always exciting and challenging yet very loving.

Virtual Reality Therapy To Treat Phobias

We are in the 21st century, so high-tech gadgets would, of course, present themselves to treat phobias and fears. In actuality, virtual reality has proven to be quite effective in treating phobias - especially arachnophobia.

This is one therapy you will not be able to do on your own. You will have to find a place that offers this treatment since it requires a virtual reality setup. However, we can touch on the basics of what it can do and how it works.

Virtual Reality (VR) is a type of exposure therapy in a virtual setting that is safer, less embarrassing, and less costly than reproducing the real world situations. Besides situations can be created that are difficult to find in real life and it's more realistic than imagining the danger.

Already some experiments have proven VR to be a useful tool in treating specific phobias such as fear of heights, fear of spiders, fear of flying and claustrophobia, as well as agoraphobia. However most research that is done on VR exposure consists of single case studies and controlled group studies are necessary to support the conclusions of case studies. Research in this area is still in its infancy, but is progressing rapidly.

The therapy consists of a few sessions with a psychologist to determine the origin of the fear. The VRT portion of the therapy begins after there is a sufficient understanding of the phobia. Using a platform and a headset, a patient is immersed in a computer-generated environment designed to reproduce a real-world setting. Real digital video is incorporated into the virtual environment to promote a sense of reality. A process known as habituation is used to help patients manage their anxiety.

Habituation occurs with exposure over time. The therapy might begin with exposure to the virtual room only. Then the stimulus (spider) is introduced far away and gradually gets closer. It's sort of like taking baby steps. As the patient becomes more and more comfortable in the room, the body's anxiety reaction will become less and less severe.

The headset is attached to a desktop computer and sensors pick up any head movement so when the user turns his head, he can look around. The earphones will simulate the sounds of the environment. The platform also moves to simulate the physical nature of the situation.

The process is started in a hierarchical way beginning with the less intimidating scenario and gradually making it more difficult. The patient is kept in the environment until their anxiety begins to lessen (habituation).

Overall the experience is convincing but still cartoon-like; there's no mistaking this for the real situation. But, for most people with phobias that doesn't matter--it's real enough to elicit their fears. The advantages of virtual reality are becoming very evident. First, the therapist can carefully control the amount of exposure in each session. For fear of flying, for example, they can slowly take clients through the steps of a flight--from takeoff to landing--over many sessions, waiting at each step and working with them until they feel comfortable and habituated.

Also there is the convenience and confidentiality factor: One therapist explains, "I could take someone with a fear of elevators onto a real elevator, but this way they don't have to worry about running into people and explaining who this guy with them is."

Finally, it's easier to get people with phobias to agree to exposure therapy when it's begun virtually, rather than in vivo. In vivo [exposure therapy] is very effective, but you have to convince people to try it. By definition, someone with a phobia wants to avoid what they're afraid of.

Of course, virtual reality has some disadvantages as well. First, there is the cost: A Virtually Better VR system sells for more than $6,000 and requires a monthly licensing fee. That price tag doesn't put it out of reach for most therapists, but it is a significant investment.

For the patient, it can be expensive as well. The treatment costs between $100 and $300 an hour. Typical treatments are completed in eight one-hour sessions. Also, the therapy does not work for everyone--and it works better for some people than for others. Some studies have found, for example, that people who are more hypnotizable or more easily able to block out distraction and be absorbed in an activity like reading are also more likely to benefit from virtual reality exposure therapy. There are people who try it and it doesn't work, but that's not true for most people.

The goal, of course, is to eventually move all clients from the virtual to the real world.

When it comes to arachnophobia, virtual reality appears to work very, very well. On the screen, the phobic will see a 3-D virtual spider in what appears to be a normal setting like the kitchen. The subject will be encouraged to "walk" closer to the spider while their anxiety level is monitored.

Eventually, they will be asked to touch a realistic larger version of a spider while virtually touching the one in the setting. Again, habituation is used to minimize the body's fear response and the patient will eventually become less stressed to touch the spider - both virtually and in reality.

While not everyone is able to do this, they are able to make great strides towards reducing their anxiety level and better deal with the spider in real life.

How to Reprogram Your Mind For Weight Loss Success

How do Subliminal Massage work? Is it safe?

Subliminal messages are messages sent directly to the impressionable subconscious mind, where they're rapidly absorbed and used to create positive, lasting change.

Subliminal messages are sent in such a way that they bypass the critical conscious mind, which may filter out positive affirmations and thereby reduce the chances of success.

To provide a literal definition: Subliminal means "below the threshold of consciousness" - and sending subliminal messages means to send messages in a way that cannot be perceived consciously, only subconsciously.

Subliminal messages are typically delivered as quick flashes of text (which are too quick for the conscious mind to comprehend) or via barely audible whispers on picture, video, music, images etc. (which are too quiet for the conscious mind to comprehend).

subliminal messaging is a COMPLETELY safe technology that has been used since the 50's.

It's the perfect self-development tool, with lasting change and measurable results... IN JUST DAYS!

How is a Subliminal Weight Loss Massage going to be beneficial to you?

It would bypass all conscious resistance that you may have against losing weight. Believe it or not, you have not lost weight because have not allowed yourself to.

Consciously you may want to lose weight, but subconsciously you don't. It may sound impossible but it is the reality. There are reasons that you may or may not be aware off that are sabotaging your weight loss efforts. You only begin to win the battle when the two - the conscious mind and the subconscious mind are aligned.

The beauty of subliminal messages is that they reprogram your subconscious mind and re-align it with your conscious mind. Most subliminal recordings are such that you just lie down and let the beautiful music wash all over you.

You can even listen to other subliminal recordings while you carry on with your everyday tasks.

The best way get the maximum benefits from subliminal recordings it to listen to them regularly for a while, for a minimum of thirty days. There after you can listen as and when you feel the need.

A good subliminal weight loss Massage would have a list of the subliminal messages embedded in the recording, written down on the cover of the Massage. This way you know exactly what message is being programmed to your subconscious mind.

After listening to it for a while, you will find it easier to change bad habits, shed excess weight, look forward to exercise and build up your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Top 5 Exercise Plateau Breakers

Plateau. That dreaded word that you do not want to hear, let alone experience. Especially if you have been diligently exercising in an attempt to get fit or lose weight. We have all experienced a plateau at some time all of a sudden you stop losing weight or you just cant seem to run any faster. When you hit a plateau, dont panic. It doesnt necessarily mean you need to work harder or spend more days at the gym.

Here are five ideas that may help you break through in record time.

Take an Active Rest

If you have hit a plateau, it may be time for an active rest. Take a week off from structured exercise, and instead take leisurely walks, play ball with the kids, or take a yoga class. Active rest rejuvenates the mind and the body and allows for overworked muscles to rest and rebuild. You will return to exercise stronger and ready for new challenges.

Time to Eat

As you increase your fitness level, your bodys metabolism may increase and so will your calorie needs. If you hit a plateau, evaluate how much you are eating. You may need to eat more than you have in the past for your body to continue to increase its fitness level. If you find you are often hungry, this is a clear sign you need to eat more to sustain your exercise program.

Mix it Up

If you do not vary your workout routine your body will eventually run on cruise control, and you will experience a plateau. Try new cardiovascular activities, or use free weights if you always use machines for strength training. Changes in your routine will surprise the body and force it to adapt, bringing you to new levels of fitness.

Different Day, Different Intensity

Varying your activities, or cross-training is important to avoid or break through a plateau. While cross-training the type of activity is often recommended, it is also important to cross-train the intensity of your workouts. Specify different days of the week as low, moderate or high-intensity days. Try interval training work at a low intensity for a couple of minutes and increase to a high intensity for a couple of minutes, and repeat. If you use a heart rate monitor, be sure your average heart rate for your exercise sessions vary from day to day.

Sleep It Off

Be sure you are getting enough sleep. Getting the right amount of sleep for your body will allow time for your muscles to recover from exercise. This will ensure that you can come to your next exercise session with enough energy and at full strength to take on a challenging workout.

If you are still frustrated, find inspiration in the story of Chris Witty, winner of the Gold Medal in 1000 meter speed skating in the 1998 Winter Olympics. A month before she was to compete in the Olympics, she was diagnosed with mononucleosis. Of course she had to cut back on training, and at the time that she should have been preparing to peak for competition. Not only did she win the Gold Medal, which nobody expected, she broke the world record! Imagine what a little rest might do for your workouts!

If you find you still cant break through that plateau, then make the decision to ride it out. Sometimes a plateau is necessary to allow the body to catch up with a new body weight or fitness level. Rest assured your body knows what is best and will break through the plateau at the right time!
